Essential Oils for home, food and skin

Essential Oils have been in my life for only the last few months, I don’t know what I did without them now! They have added depth, calm and allowed me to start my day feeling grounded and fall asleep feeling at peace. All the oils I use are doTERRA, I believe they are such an amazing quality of product and adore the brand. It is so important to know which essential oils to use and what grade they are! Always check for the “pure essential oil” and the botanical name along with the ingredients to check there aren’t other nasties or carrier oils thrown into what you hoped to be a pure oil or blend of pure oils. I truly want to share these with you and how I have used them in my life so far as I truly wish I had of had these introduced into my life sooner!

3 Oils I love to add into my day to day.

  • Instead of wearing nasty chemical laden perfumes I use “whisper” a beautiful blend simply placing a few drops on my wrists throughout the day. It has a beautiful musk scent thats not over powering but certainly calming and grounding.
  • “Digest Zen” is my go to for any tummy issues, whether its feeling discomfort from period pain to bloating or nausea. With ingredients such as fennel, anise, ginger and many more this blend is extremely soothing on the stomach and amazing for motion sickness too I have found. Placing 1 drop in my water bottle or glass of water during the day.
  • Peppermint… My beautiful best friends have shown me 2 tricks that I adore with this oil. First one being to rub in my hands in the morning and smell the revitalising and energising smell (if your skin isn’t overly sensitive popping your hands on the back of your neck feels invigorating also) the second being to pop a drop on the roof of your mouth acting like a natural mint!

Diffusing:

Every day probably 2-3 times a day I am changing up whats in my diffuser based on what I am doing, how I am feeling or want to feel and what time of day it is. For example today I started in the morning with lemongrass I find this extremely energising on waking and gets me clear for the day ahead, over lunch and the afternoon I swapped it over for On Guard an amazing spice filled mix that is honestly one of my most favourites. I have now just switched (and cleaned) my gorgeous diffuser over to lavender preparing me for the night time calming and unwinding from my day, I leave this on whilst I sleep as I find it truly does help with not only getting to sleep but my quality of sleep.

Consuming Essential Oils:

I have been playing around with adding essential oils into raw desserts and cooking! My two favourites so far are my peppermint slice and my lemon slice both of which use doTERRA oils to enhance flavour. Delish!

Beauty Products:

I use the weleda skin food often on my pamper or self care nights I love to place a drop of frankinsence into the cream before putting on it is so beautiful… (click link above for 40% off at Nourished Life at the moment)

I have always had very troublesome skin, with underactive thyroid and hormone imbalances unfortunatley also comes acne. I have recently found combing coconut oil and a drop of tree an amazing help for any aggressive bumps.

Lastly, the beautiful Melissa Ambrosini has an AMAZING podcast on her show that dives into essential oils so much further (I would be writing for days haha) and is such a wealth of knowledge. Check out some of her other podcasts while you are there she is beyond incredible and has so much to share.
